About Me

Hello, I’m Teri Rehkopf. You might say I’ve laid down roots a stone’s throw from where my story began. Originally hailing from Jacksonville, FL, I now find solace and strength in my 5-acre slice of Keystone Heights. It’s here that my conviction in self-reliance and preparedness flourishes. Welcome to the Golden Survivalist!

My new brand, GoldenSurvivalist.com, as a companion brand to SurvivalPrepperSupply.com, is crafted with the wisdom and gentleness needed for senior-friendly bug-out bags – ensuring readiness is inclusive and accessible to everyone.

Roots of Resilience

My passion for survivalism isn’t just a fleeting interest; it’s deeply rooted in my family’s history. Let me take you back to where it all began. My trailblazing mother, just like the heroic figures from the science fiction novels that later ignited my imagination, was an original survivalist long before it became mainstream. In a bold move, she and her first husband left the familiarity of Ohio to embrace the challenges of Florida’s untamed landscapes, purchasing a 30-acre slice of possibility outside Jacksonville.

Their pioneering spirit did not go untested. The chicken farm they started with 10,000 chickens seemed like a promising venture—until it wasn’t. The bust in the ’40s taught her, and later me, invaluable lessons about resilience and the necessity of being prepared for any twist of fate.

After my mother married my father, Roger, they further built on the survivalist lifestyle, instilling in me a lasting respect for self-reliance and the great outdoors. This family ethos became the bedrock upon which I would build my life. From a young age, I was surrounded by whispers of the trees and the solemn duty to respect and prepare for nature’s caprices. I used to run with my dog in the woods surrounding our property. Later, it would be on my horse.

My upbringing wasn’t just about living off the land but also about nurturing an awareness that life can change on a dime and that one must always be ready. These lessons underpin every kit and piece of advice I offer through SurvivalPrepperSupply.com.

Up next, I’ll introduce you to the core of my online household, a place where this legacy of toughness and tenacity continues—Survival Prepper Supply Kits—your guide to developing a foolproof Plan B.
